You’ve got questions. I know you do. You can, of course, feel free to contact me directly with any questions you have, but here’s a few I run into most frequently.
How many weddings do you book a year?
I make sure my clients get the highest level of service and attention possible. To that end, I typically will only take 15 weddings a year.
Do you travel for Destination Weddings?
Most definitely. Email me to get a custom quote for your destination wedding.
What kind of equipment do you use?
Canon Professional camera gear is the only stuff allowed in my bag. I am continually investing in new equipment and technology to stay current and ensure I get the best quality for my clients. Check out my gear list.
Can I drop the engagement session?
Yes you can. I highly recommend against it (I LOOOOOVE Engagements!) because they’re a great way for us to get to know each other, but if you’d like to remove the engagement session, you can deduct $150 from the package price. But you shouldn’t because they’re great.
Do you have insurance?
Of course! I have a comprehensive liability and equipment policy through Travelers. Let me know if your venue requires any of these documents and I’ll be happy to supply copies to them.
What is required to book my date?
A 50% retainer along with your signed contract is required to reserve the date. The final 50% is due 2 weeks prior to the wedding date. Dates are limited and on a first come, first serve basis, upon the receipt of contract and retainer. I also take credit cards and can split your balance into up to 4 payments.
What do we do if it rains?
Get a great umbrella and have fun! Ok ok.. If you’re not into getting all drippy before your reception, there are lots of places to go around the area that are covered. We’ll keep an eye on the forecast and have a backup plan if indoor locations are needed.
How many images do you end up with for most Weddings?
Lots. Most weddings/events typically end up with 50-70 images per hour of coverage. More than you’ll know what to do with!
How long does it take to receive my proofs?
Editing is one of my favorite parts of wedding images so I like to take my time and make sure all your proofs look amazing! Weddings are usually in your proof gallery in 4-6 weeks, engagements and other portrait sessions take about 3-5 weeks. A few will make a cameo on my blog (and probably facebook), too!
How long are the proofs online?
Your engagement will usually stay up until the wedding and your wedding images will be online for 6 months after they’re posted. Plenty of time to pick your prints and album!
How do we pick the album images?
Oh the album-picking task is a daunting one! Luckily, you have 6 months and a ‘favorites folder’ system online to help you organize your thoughts. When you’re all ready, just let me know and I will put together an online proof of your album.
When does the album come in?
When we’ve made your album everything you’ve ever dreamed of, you’ll pick out a few things like cover colors and imprinting and I’ll put in your order. They’re usually here in about 8-10 weeks. Maybe a bit longer during the holidays.
Do we get the high-resolution files?
Absolutely! All packages include a High Resolution DVD of wedding images along with a copyright release to allow for personal reprints. The DVD will be delivered with the finished album. In a lovely package. High Resolution files from engagement or portrait sessions can also be purchased or added to your wedding package a la carte!
Can we make prints from the DVD anywhere we want?
You bet! But please remember, they ARE your wedding pictures! I know its tempting to run right off to the nearest 1-hour lab and get them all printed, but if you’re going to display them in your home (or anyone else’s, for that matter), please get them printed at a reputable photographic lab! On matte paper. Really. You’ll thank me. I can even provide you a list of labs I like. The DVD also has a copyright release that allows you to print for your own personal use. Just don’t sell them to Bride’s magazine without asking me first, ok?
Are the DVD photos edited?
Yep. All the proofs you saw online will be on the DVD. Edited and ready for print.
Do you do boudoir sessions or dress-trashing sessions?
Oh yeah. Wicked fun. Email me and we’ll talk about those.
