Oh the rain! The April weather was surely not nice to us but I wouldn't dream of letting that stand in the way of fabulous wedding pictures. Case in point: Marcie and Andy. I was shooting for KP on this wedding and wouldn't you know it, the rains came! Lucky for us their stay was short and we got outside for some awesome portraits to go along with the beautiful wedding and reception. Thanks for having me along Kelly!

What a lucky girl I am! My good friend Kelly invited me to go shoot a wedding with her in sunny Florida this past February! The weather was gorgeous, the beach was perfect and we even had a day off to be lazy in the sand. Oh and did I mention the wedding was spectacular? Because it was. Check it out....

Ah yes. Wedding season in full swing! I do have a busy spring ahead of me so be on the lookout for new stuff coming all the time. I'm so excited about this new blog and its features and I really hope everyone likes the upgrade. And the Blogshow. Its how I roll. 

That said! I present Tracy and Jasen! This was a wonderful country wedding by my friend Tracy Lee of 683 Photography and I was stoked to get to come along to shoot. Its definitely nice to get out of the city sometimes and this was a perfect little white church in Defiance, MO that would've made any hometown girl envious. Big windows, lots of light, a full house of family and friends and the one you love. Can't beat that.

What an honor for us to have Denis Reggie come to our PUG in St.Louis for a presentation! Denis is one of the top wedding photographers in the world and to hear him speak on lighting techniques, locations and marketing was beyond inspirational. He pioneered the 'wedding photojournalism' era and, I have to say, I would love to follow him around at a wedding for a day, just to see how a wedding photojournalist in its truest form operates. I strive to be photojournalistic in my own approach to wedding photography, but I would be a fat liar if I didn't say that one of my favorite times of the day is when I get to take the bride and groom and do rock-the-socks-off portraits. :)

I'm anxious to try out some of the techniques learned at the seminar - 'foofing' anyone? - and I know that learning experiences like this will surely make me a better photographer and documentarian. Thank you for all your inspiration Denis!

BTW, Justin from GigBooks was also on hand for a short demo before the big Denis presentation! Its a fantastic studio management tool I use to run my business and I'm so glad they made the trip!

So excited for my new site and blog! I'm still testing and populating so if thing seem weird for a bit, they'll get worked out soon, promise. :)
